"What About" to piosenka o rockowym brzmieniu pochodząca z szóstego krążka Jackson, "Velvet Rope", który jest albumem koncepcyjnym, inspirowanym załamaniem nerwowym wokalistki.
Odważna płyta od razu wywołała poruszenie i między innymi dzięki niej Janet została okrzyknięta prekursorką contemporary R&B i wczesnego alternatywnego R&B, zwinnie łącząc ten gatunek z hip-hopem, muzyką elektroniczną, rockiem czy nawet folkiem. Artystka podjęła na niej takie tematy jak depresja, poczucie własnej wartości, BDSM, związki homoseksualne czy w końcu przemoc domowa, o której właśnie jest piosenka "What About", w moim odczuciu jedna z bardziej epickich w karierze wokalistki.

Jak się możecie domyślać, mocno emocjonalny występ (i jego równie uczuciowy tekst) wzbudził sporo kontrowersji, a ludzie zaczęli spekulować, że utwór mógł opowiadać o byłym mężu piosenkarki Wissamie Al Mana, z którym podczas tworzenia krążka była w trakcie rozwodu.

Też świetne propozycje tyle że znane, a ja chciałem wystawić coś czego jednak ktoś kto nie jest fanem Janet może nie znać, bo już minęły lata jak była na topie (chociaż Królową Popu dla mnie zostanie na zawsze). I raczej mało kto kojarzy Janet z takiej rockowej strony poza właśnie piosenką "Black Cat", którą też uwielbiam! "If" jako że ballada to pewnie przepadłoby w konkursie bo tu jest mało zwolenników takich piosenek, ale też bardzo lubię. Ale mimo wszystko dobrze, że mi jej nie wziąłeś. xddd Bo zależało mi na tym występie. <3
